
WLBM Change Maker Award
The WLBM Change Maker Award recognizes organizations and individuals within the Lumber, Building Materials, and Construction Supply (LBM) industry who have demonstrated outstanding commitment and achievements in the realm of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). This award honors those who have made a significant impact on the industry through DEIB programs and are raising awareness, driving positive change, and inspiring others to join their efforts.
Award Information
This award acknowledges and celebrates excellence in DEIB practices within the LBM industry. Nominees will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
Leadership Commitment: Demonstrated commitment from top leadership in promoting and prioritizing DEIB initiatives within the organization.
Inclusive Workplace Culture: Evidence of fostering an inclusive workplace culture where all employees, regardless of their background, feel welcomed, valued, and supported.
Diverse Workforce: A track record of actively recruiting, retaining, and promoting individuals from diverse backgrounds, including but not limited to race, gender, age, sexual orientation, and ability.
Equitable Policies and Practices: Implementation of policies and practices that promote equity, including fair compensation, career development opportunities, and accessible resources for all employees.
Community Engagement: Efforts to contribute to and support DEIB initiatives in the local community, industry associations, and beyond.
Innovative DEIB Initiatives: Evidence of creative and effective DEIB programs, initiatives, or partnerships that have made a significant impact.
Measurable Impact: Demonstrable results and metrics that showcase the positive impact of DEIB efforts on the organization and its stakeholders.
Sustainability: A commitment to long-term sustainability in DEIB efforts, with plans for continuous improvement.
Membership: All nominees must be members of WLBM
Organizations and individuals within the LBM industry may be nominated for the WLBM Change Maker Award by industry peers, employees, customers, or self-nominations. Nominees will be required to submit an application detailing their DEIB efforts and accomplishments.
A panel of DEIB experts, industry leaders, and diversity advocates will review the nominations and select the awardee based on the established criteria. The selection process will be fair, transparent, and objective.
By instituting the WLBM Change Maker Award, the industry can recognize and celebrate those who are leading the way in fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within their organizations and making a positive impact on the industry as a whole.
